On July 7, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to an agency assist with NC Probation and Parole on Osborn Mill Rd., Seagrove. Upon arrival, the probation officer advised they had located a firearm belonging to parolee Christopher Alexander Gladden, who they already had in custody for a probation violation. Gladden is a convicted felon and was in possession of the firearm. Charges were sought against Gladden and the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of firearm by felon. Gladden was issued a $5,000 total secured bond. A first appearance was set for July 10, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
