On May 22, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer received a report of AirPods stolen at the assigned school. Following the investigation, Jahod Yasin Miles, a contract worker at the school, and Monifah Lenise Toole, friend to Miles, were identified as the suspects.
Miles was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of misdemeanor larceny and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods. He was issued a written promise to appear on June 5, 2023.
Charges were sought on Toole, who had sold the stolen property, and the magistrate found probable cause for felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense. The magistrate found probable cause and the warrant was issued. On May 31, 2023, Toole was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served the warrant and received a $1,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for June 1, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
