On December 29, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to NC Hwy 22 N and Hardin Ellison Rd. in reference to an unconscious subject behind the wheel of a vehicle in the roadway. Upon arrival, the vehicle was running but stationary in the middle of NC Hwy 22 N. Upon approach, a female, later identified as Robin Crystal Fulford, was found sitting in the driver’s seat slightly slumped over and unconscious with the car still in the drive position. Responders were unable to wake her and she was therefore transported to an area hospital by EMS for medical treatment.
During an inventory of the vehicle, marijuana and paraphernalia were located. A deputy responded to the hospital to meet with attending staff, who located had located methamphetamine and heroin on her during evaluation. The deputy advised Fulford that charges would be sought in reference the narcotics located in her vehicle and on her person.
The facts of this case was presented to the magistrate, who found probable cause for the charge of felony possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of heroin, misdemeanor possession of marijuana and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
On December 30, 2022, Fulford was served the warrant and issued a $1,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for same day in Randolph County District Court.
