On October 10, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registry Detective received information that Nicholas Kane Conner, a registered sex offender, had been trespassed from the address for which he was registered.
On October 21, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was notified that Conner had been on a premise caring for children. During the investigation, it was confirmed that he had been on the property several times.
On October 24, 2022, the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest for felony failure to report new address – sex offender and felony sex offender/child premises.
On October 26, 2022, Connor was apprehended by the Criminal Apprehension Team on Liberty Grove Rd. in Liberty NC. He was actively evading arrest. Connor was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his outstanding warrant and two criminal summons. The magistrate issued a $10,000 secured bond and set the next court date for October 27, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
