On September 18, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a larceny report on Gopher Woods Rd., Asheboro, that had occurred approximately three weeks prior. The victim reported that known associates were at the residence target shooting; the victim went inside briefly and returned to find his firearm and vehicle missing, as well as one of the associates identified as Alexander Calvin Davis. The victim had tried to obtain information about his property from Davis, but Davis had stopped returning calls and text messages.
Later in the evening of September 18, 2022, deputies went to an address on Mamie May Rd. in order to attempt to locate the stolen truck. Upon arrival, the resident advised that an Alexander Davis had dropped the truck off about a week ago. Deputies confirmed the vehicle was the same that had been reported stolen and it was recovered.
Following an investigation, charges were sought against Davis and the magistrate found probable cause to issue charges for Felony Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, and Felony Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
On October 4, 2022. Davis was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served this warrant. The magistrate issued a $2,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for October 17, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
