On September 12, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to an agency assist on Randleman Road in Randleman, in an attempt to locate a subject who had stolen a vehicle in the Greensboro area. Upon arrival, deputies located a vehicle and male subject matching the descriptions given by the requesting agency. Witnesses were able to verify that John Christopher Sykes had driven the vehicle to the location on Randleman Road. Sykes was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of stolen motor vehicle. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond and a first appearance was scheduled for September 13, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
