On March 6, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received information that registered sex offender David Jason Sloan had been released from jail on February 27, 2026, but had since failed to report his new address, which is a violation of the sex offender registry laws. Charges were sought for felony fail to notify new address – sex offender. The magistrate found probable cause and issued a warrant for arrest.
On March 9, 2026, Sloan was served his warrant and was issued no bond. A first appearance was set for March 10, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
