On February 18, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Jugtown Rd., Seagrove, in reference to the theft of an automobile. Deputies collected information and searched possible locations based on the information provided, but were unsuccessful in locating the vehicle or suspect.
Following an investigation, charges were sought against Corey Tyler Hussey for felony larceny of a motor vehicle. The magistrate found probable cause and issued a warrant for arrest.
On February 21, 2026, deputies located Hussey hiding at a residence on Hussey Williams Rd., Seagrove. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his outstanding warrant. He received no bond.
During a subsequent search of the property, a firearm and paraphernalia were located. Additional charges were sought, and the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony possession of a firearm by a felon and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Hussey was served and was given no bond on the additional charges.
A first appearance was set for February 23, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
