On June 11, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division received a report of fraud.
Following an investigation, charges were sought against Erica Lea Welch for felony obtain property by false pretense. The magistrate found probable cause and a warrant for arrest was issued on July 25, 2025.
On February 12. 2025, Welch was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center. She was issued a $5,000 secured bond, and a first appearance is scheduled for February 13, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
