On December 19, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Leonae Dr., Randleman, regarding the theft of an automobile.
While Detectives with the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit were canvassing the area in an attempt to locate the vehicle or additional video surveillance, they were advised that the vehicle had been returned, and the offender was currently in the driver’s seat of the same. They approached the vehicle where the offender appeared to be sleeping in the driver’s seat. The offender, later identified as Karen Sue Dorsey, complied with commands and was placed under arrest. She was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony break/enter a motor vehicle, felony larceny of a motor vehicle, and felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle. She received a $15,000 secured bond due to having the charge that was domestic in nature. A first appearance was set for December 22, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
