On July 29, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Side Church Road, Seagrove, regarding a 911 wireless hang-up call that possibly involved a domestic issue at that location. While en route, Randolph County Communications (RCC911) was able to reestablish contact with the caller, who reported that Jason Nakoa Dillon had forcibly entered the residence, appeared to be highly intoxicated, became involved in a verbal altercation, interfered with the call to 911, and then took a juvenile from the residence.
Responding deputies observed the suspect vehicle turning from Bennett Road onto Curtis Powers Road. Emergency lights and sirens were activated, but the suspect refused to stop and increased speed, initiating a pursuit. Dillion eventually pulled into a private driveway on Curtis Powers Rd., where he fled on foot with the juvenile. Deputies pursued on foot, quickly apprehending Dillon, and safely recovered the juvenile. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, an open container of alcohol was located. Dillon refused to comply with verbal commands during the arrest but was ultimately taken into custody and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center.
After further investigation, it was determined that the vehicle he was driving had been stolen from another residence on the property.
He was taken before the magistrate, who found probable cause for:
(F) flee to elude arrest
(F) larceny of motor vehicle
(F) possession of a stolen motor vehicle
(M) assault on a female
(M) interfere with emergency communications
(M) child abuse
(M) resist, delay, obstruct
(M) open container of alcohol
