On July 11, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Race Track Rd., Sophia, in reference to a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, witnesses reported the suspect, identified as Larry Matthew Bullins, walking away from the residence, and a deputy observed him running into the woods. While searching the path he ran, illegal substances were located that had been discarded, but he was not found.
During an inventory of his vehicle for towing, additional narcotics and US currency were found.
Charges were sought against Bullins for felony possession of heroin, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/distribute schedule I controlled substance, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/distribute schedule IV controlled substance, felony maintain vehicle/dwelling for a controlled substance, felony trafficking of opium or heroin, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
On July 12, 2025, Bullins was arrested on outstanding processes unrelated to this incident and then served with this warrant. The magistrate issued a $75,000 secured bond, and a court date was set for July 14, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
