On June 25, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on NC Hwy 62, Trinity, after observing multiple traffic violations. The vehicle refused to stop, continuing at a high rate of speed and making unsafe movements. Upon approaching the intersection of Sunrise Ave., the driver cut through the grass and over a curb, coming to a stop on Julian Ave. The driver immediately exited his vehicle as the Thomasville Police Department arrived and assisted with the apprehension of the male, identified as Dunstan Ramisa Thompson, who is on probation.
He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle, misdemeanor driving while license revoked-not impaired revoked, misdemeanor reckless driving to endanger, drive left of center, and failure to stop at a steady red light. He was issued a bond of $33,000 secured, and a first appearance was set for June 26, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
