On May 28, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 220 S, Asheboro, in reference to a wanted person. Upon arrival, deputies observed a male subject run south into the woodline, and a foot pursuit began, apprehending him a short distance away. The male was identified as Stetson Roy Cagle, who had multiple orders for arrest, and was taken into custody. EMS responded to evaluate Cagle based on recent use of illegal substances and transported him to Randolph Health for further evaluation.
Max Gray Harris was also located and determined to have outstanding orders for arrest and was in possession of heroin and paraphernalia. Harris was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of heroin and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also served his outstanding process. No bond was issued, and a first appearance was set for June 2, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
Following Cagle’s evaluation, he was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his outstanding processes for failure to appear and a felony probation violation. He was issued a total of $7,000 in secured bonds. A first appearance was set for June 2, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
