After further investigation, the second suspect was identified as a juvenile. A Juvenile Petition was filed for felony break/enter motor vehicle and misdemeanor injury to personal property against the juvenile.

On April 6, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Prospect Church Rd., Thomasville, in response to an alarm. Upon arrival, they discovered a broken window on a vehicle and an activated car alarm. Further examination revealed that the glove compartment had been opened and rummaged through. A neighbor reported observing two individuals in the vicinity, one of whom was wearing a mask. Additional deputies were called to search the area. One deputy spotted the individuals walking along Middle Point Rd., but they fled upon noticing the deputy. After a short foot pursuit, one suspect was apprehended and identified as Davonte Martese Kind. He was released while the investigation continued, and the identity of the second male remained unknown at that time.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against Kind for felony break/enter motor vehicle with theft and misdemeanor injury to personal property. The magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest.
On April 8, 2025, Kind was arrested by members of the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit with the assistance of the Thomasville Police Department in their jurisdiction. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the warrant and issued a $10,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for April 9, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
