On May 7, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop off Hopewell Church Rd., on exit 111, Archdale. The driver was identified as Charles Takoda Thompson, who has a suspended license.
During a subsequent search, illegal substances and paraphernalia were located. Thompson was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a $2,500 secured bond and a first appearance was set for May 14, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
He was also issued a citation for driving while license revoked.
