On April 16, 2025, Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible financial theft. Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Laura Lee Freeman for felony identity theft, felony financial theft, and felony obtain property false pretense. The magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest.
On April 30, 2025, Freeman was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served her warrant. She was issued a $10,000 secured bond, and a first appearance was set for May 2, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
