On April 18, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on I-73 near McDowell Rd., Asheboro. The driver was identified as Jessica Suzanne Ellington, who had an outstanding criminal summons.
During a subsequent search, illegal substances and paraphernalia were located. Ellington was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor driving while license revoked. She was issued a $5000 secured bond, and a first appearance was set for April 21, 2025, in Randolph County District Court. Ellington was also served her outstanding criminal summons.
