On January 3, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Leather Rd., Seagrove, in reference to the larceny of a trailer that had already occurred.
Following an investigation by the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit, Detectives recovered the trailer in Sophia on January 7, 2025. Charges were sought against Rufus Wade Beavers for felony larceny and felony possession of stolen goods. The magistrate found probable cause and issued a warrant for arrest.
On January 23, 2025, Beavers was located and arrested. During the arrest, alprazolam and paraphernalia were located. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant for arrest. The magistrate found probable cause for additional charges of misdemeanor possession of schedule IV controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $1,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for January 24, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
