On October 25, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Riverside Rd., Seagrove, in reference to an assault and suspicious person. Upon arrival and initial investigation, it was determined that multiple juveniles and an 18-year-old were involved.
During the investigation, McKaila Grace Morris was found to be in possession of marijuana during a subsequent search.
The parents/guardians of the juveniles were contacted and responded to pick up the juveniles and Morris was released pending the completion of the investigation.
On October 27, 2024, charges were sought against McKaila Grace Morris for felony maintain a vehicle/dwelling/place for a controlled substance, felony conspiracy for possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana along with sell/deliver marijuana, and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The magistrate found probable cause and issued the warrant for arrest.
On October 31, 2024, Morris was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served her warrant. She received a $2,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for November 11, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
