On August 31, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 311, Sophia, in in reference to the larceny of a motor vehicle and contents. Upon arrival, deputies were able to obtain security camera footage of the incident. The victim arrived at the business and parked next to the offender, later identified as Jerica Anita Roach. When the victim entered the store, Roach walked over to the victim’s vehicle, got in, and drove away.
Following the investigation, a warrant was obtained for Roach for felony larceny of a motor vehicle and felony larceny.
On October 8, 2024, Roach was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served her warrant. The magistrate issued a $5,000 secured bond and a court date was set for October 14, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
