On May 30, 2024, during the booking process at the Randolph County Detention Center, Kevin Shane Latham was found to be in possession of an illegal substance and paraphernalia. Following an investigation by the Detective, it was determined the substance was heroin. On June 3, 2024, charges were sought against Latham and the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of controlled substance on jail premises and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and a criminal summons was issued. Latham had already been released from the Detention Center.
On August 6, 2024, Latham was served his criminal summons and a court date set for June 24, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
