On July 23, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Electronic House Arrest (EHA) Officers were made aware that Christian Jacob McDowell’s EHA strap may have been tampered with, which violates his EHA conditions. The EHA Officers responded to the address to check and conduct a search. McDowell was located and the property was searched. He was also transported to the Adult Day Reporting Center where he tested positive for marijuana usage.
He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the felony electronic house arrest violation. The magistrate issued a $150,000 secured bond plus continued EHA. A court date was scheduled for August 12, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
McDowell has been on house arrest for first-degree statutory rape since February 15, 2022.
