Following the investigation, additional charges were issued on June 16, 2022, related to the stolen checks.
On June 25, 2022, Ashburn was arrested by the High Point Police Department in their jurisdiction. She was served the warrants for Felony Identity Theft, Felony Forgery of Endorsement, Misdemeanor Larceny and Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods/Property. The magistrate issued a $15,000 unsecured bond and a court date was set for August 18, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.

On May 2, 2022, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Broken Oak Rd., Trinity, in reference to fraud. Upon arrival, the victim reported that Jessica Ann Ashburn had stolen blank checks from her but didn’t realize it until contacted by her bank.
Ashburn was on Electronic House Arrest at the time of the incident. She was originally placed on EHA on 04/21/22 for a Probation Violation. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Electronic House Arrest (EHA) Officers were advised of the report and responded to Ashburn’s residence. She was found in violation of her conditions of EHA and therefore transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the violation of EHA and placed her under a $25,000 preset secure bond. A first appearance set for May 3, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
This is an ongoing investigation and additional charges will be forthcoming.
