On June 28, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible sex offense upon a minor by Cesar Vijil Ramos, who was still on the scene upon arrival. Following an investigation of the allegations, Criminal Investigation Detectives transported Ramos to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony statutory rape of a child under 15 years of age. The magistrate issued a $500,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for July 1, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
