On June 18, 2024, the Randolph County Detention Center Detective conducted an investigation into the possible possession of an illegal substance by an inmate. Following the investigation charges were sought against Joseph Green for felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises and misdemeanor simple possession of Schedule III controlled substance. The magistrate found probable cause for the charges, issued a criminal summons, and set a June 24, 2024, court date in Randolph County District Court.
