An address verification letter was mailed out on March 26, 2024, by the NCSBI to Shady Paul Tinnin, a registered sex offender. The letter was returned to the Randolph County Sheriff's Office on April 1, 2024. the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registry Detective attempted to call Tinnin three different times and did an address check at his registered address. The home was vacant on April 23, 2024. Tinnin has failed to notify the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office of an address change as required by law for registered sex offenders and charges were sought for felony fail to notify address change and the magistrate found probable cause to issue the warrant.
On May 30, 2024, Tinnin was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served his warrant. The bond was denied and a first appearance was set for May 31, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
