On April 16, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Unit concluded an investigation related to the distribution of narcotics in Randolph County. Detectives, along with members of the Emergency Response Team and the Asheboro Police Department, executed a search warrant at a residence located on NC Hwy 42 North in Asheboro. During the search, detectives located and seized a Trafficking amount of cocaine, marijuana, US Currency, and items of drug paraphernalia.
As a result, James Daniel Williams was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of felony trafficking in cocaine, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver schedule II controlled substance, felony possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana, felony manufacture/sell/deliver/possess controlled substance within 1,000 ft of child care center, felony maintain vehicle/dwelling/place for controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $15,000 secured bond, and a first appearance was set for April 17, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
