On April 10, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to an assault in progress call on Old NC Hwy 49, Asheboro. Upon arrival, deputies located the parties involved. Following an investigation, David Mehall was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony assault by strangulation and misdemeanor assault on a female. Bond was denied due to the charges being domestic in nature. A first appearance was set for April 11, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
