On April 9, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a request for an agency assist from the Randolph County Department of Social Services (DSS). The Criminal Investigations Division responded with DSS to Randolph Health and to an address on Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against Margaret Jo Michelle Morgan and Christopher Allen Norman for felony neglect child abuse resulting in serious physical injury. The magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for both.
Later, on April 9, 2024, Morgan and Norman were apprehended by the Criminal Apprehension Team; Morgan on Medical Center Blvd., Winston Salem, and Norman on Pisgah Covered Bridge Rd., Asheboro. They were transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where they were served their warrants.
Morgan was issued a $10,000 secured bond and Norman was issued a $15,000 secured bond. Both had their first appearance today, April 10, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
