On March 1, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Silkwood Dr., Ramseur, in reference to a female, identified as Sherrita Monique Bautista, attempting to break into the residence via the front door. While enroute, communications received an additional call reporting that Bautista, who is known by the victim, had fired several shots into the residence through a sliding glass door on the side of the residence. Upon arrival, deputies located Bautista and detained her during the investigation. Crime Scene Investigations responded to process the scene and collect evidence.
Following the investigation, Bautista was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony discharge of weapon into an occupied dwelling, felony break/enter to terrorize/injure, misdemeanor injury to real property, and misdemeanor injury to personal property and issued a $10,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for March 4, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
