On February 23, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office responded to 7408 Charles Mtn. Rd., Denton, in reference to a reported burglary in progress. Upon arrival, the deputy could see that a window on the south side of the residence appeared to be broken and there was a chair on the ground directly beneath it. While speaking with the caller in the driveway, they heard glass breaking on the south side of the home and then observed a male subject running away from the property. After a brief foot chase, the male was apprehended and identified as Connor Seth Saunders. The homeowner arrived shortly after and evidence was collected for the investigation.
Saunders was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charge(s) of felony breaking and/or entering, misdemeanor injury to real property and misdemeanor resist/obstruct a public officer. The magistrate issued a $75,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for February 26, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
