On January 12, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Commonwealth Rd, Randleman, in reference to a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies located April Lynn Simon, exiting the residence. She was detained during the investigation. Upon entrance, deputies located the victim with a laceration to the arm. Randolph County EMS responded and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment.
Following the investigation, Simon was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. She was issued a $25,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for January 15, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
