UPDATED
During the initial traffic stop on May 7, 2023, a passenger, identified as Lisa Ann Thornsbury, was found to be in possession of a possible illegal substance that was unidentifiable at the time and marijuana. The unidentified item was sent to the SBI lab for testing and Thornsbury was advised that charges may be forthcoming.
On November 17, 2024, the lab test for the narcotics came back positive for methamphetamine. Charges were sought against Thornsbury for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana up to ½ oz. and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest.
On January 3, 2024, Thornsbury was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where she was served her outstanding warrant. She was served her warrant and received a written promise to appear. A first appearance was set for January 8, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.

On May 7, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop in the area of Saddle Club Dr. & Finch Farm Rd., Trinity. The driver was identified as Michael Keith McDowell, who Communications advised had an active felony warrant for a probation violation; therefore, he was placed under arrest. During a subsequent search, marijuana and paraphernalia were located. McDowell was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and altered registration plate. He was also served his warrant and received a $45,000 total secured bond. A first appearance was set for May 8, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
