On November 24, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the area of Beckerdite Rd. and Groom Rd., Sophia. The passenger was identified as Christopher Lee Boles. During a subsequent search, three different checkbooks and three checks, suspected to be forged, were located in his possession. During a search of the vehicle's passenger area, a burglary tool was located with paperwork belonging to Boles.
The evidence was collected, and Boles was advised charges would be forthcoming for three counts of felony forgery of an instrument.
On November 27, 2023, Boles was served with a criminal summons for those charges, with a court date set for December 22, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
