On October 15, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Maple Ridge Rd., Asheboro, in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies located a female, later identified as Crissie Michelle Peak asleep behind the wheel in the driveway, with the key in the ignition and the engine running. Randolph County EMS responded to evaluate Peak.
During the investigation, the vehicle in which Peak was sitting had a fictitious tag and the VIN for the vehicle was confirmed to have been reported stolen out of High Point. During a search of the vehicle, illegal substances and paraphernalia were located. Peak was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, felony possession of methamphetamine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. She was issued a $2,500 secured bond with a first appearance court date of October 16, 2023. Peak was also served an outstanding Criminal Summons for Misdemeanor Larceny and Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods with a court date of October 23, 2023.
