On April 15, 2022, at 8:08 am, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Millboro Rd., Franklinville, in reference to a suspicious person. While enroute, the caller advised that a male, and now a female, were on the front porch and they looked like the subjects that had been associated with an assault and carjacking in the New Bern area of Craven County.
Craven County Sheriff’s Office had issued warrants for both subjects for felony common law robbery, felony larceny of a motor vehicle and felony assault on a disabled person. Both were reported to be from Randolph County. The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was alerted, informed of the incident, and were on the lookout in case they traveled back to Randolph County.
Upon arrival to the Millboro Rd. address, the subjects were no longer on the front porch. Danny Lee Minor and Kimberly Elizabeth Woodell were located inside of a building on the property. They were apprehended and placed under arrest on the warrants from Craven County.
Woodell also had a warrant for arrest for felony interfere with an electronic monitoring device, and orders for arrest for felony probation violation and failure to appear.
During a search to arrest, Minor was found in possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
A short time later, the vehicle taken in the New Bern incident, was located nearby in a wooded area on Bethany Church Rd.
Both subjects were transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where they were served their warrants and orders. The magistrate found probable cause for additional charges as follows:
- Minor was also charged with felony possession of stolen motor vehicle and misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Minor was issued a $115,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for April 18, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
- Woodell was also charged with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle. She was issued a $122,000 total secured bond and a first appearance was set for April 18, 2022, in Randolph County District Court.
