On May 26, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Deputy patrolling the area of Dragonfly Lane in Asheboro observed a stationery vehicle with a female sitting in the driver's seat. Upon approach, the female was identified as Kimberly Dawn Fenton. During a consensual search, methamphetamine, marijuana and paraphernalia was located. Fenton was placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia. She was issued a $1,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for May 30, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
