On May 26, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the area of New Salem Rd. and Bethel Church Rd., Climax. Upon approach, the deputy made contact with the driver, Gregory Alan Morris, who Communications reported had an outstanding order for arrest out of Moore County for driving while license revoked and failure to stop at a stop sign / flashing red light. Morris was placed under arrest. During the search to arrest, methamphetamine was located in his possession and paraphernalia was located in the vehicle.
Morris was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor driving while license revoked – impaired revoked, misdemeanor no liability insurance, and expired/no inspection. He was issued a $2,000 secure bond. He was also served the order for arrest with a pre-set bond of $5,000 secured. A first appearance was set for May 30, 2023 in Randolph County District Court.
