On March 10, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Thayer Rd., Trinity, in reference to an accident. Upon arrival, the driver was identified as Maximus Quinn Howell, who was suspected of an impairing substance. Highway Patrol arrived on scene and following a field sobriety test, placed Howell under arrest for driving while impaired.
During the search incident to arrest, deputies located and seized marijuana, paraphernalia, and methamphetamine. Due to the male being in Highway Patrol's custody for additional sobriety tests, charges were sought with a magistrate later against Howell for felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of marijuana up to ½ oz., and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
On May 25, 2023, Howell was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant. He was issued a $2,500 secured bond and a first appearance was set for May 26, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
