On May 11, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Shady Forest Road, Randleman, in reference to a suspicious male subject. The caller provided a description of the subject. Upon arrival, deputies located the male, who identified himself and Ryan Chase Lester. The deputy immediately noticed the subject’s behavior indicated he was impaired. When questioned, he advised he had used heroin and presented items in his possession. He was placed under arrest and transported to Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate who found probable cause for the charge of felony possession of heroin and issued a $10,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for May 12, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
