On October 27, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a call for service in reference to an assault that had already occurred. The victim provided information regarding the assault.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against Curtis Eugene Mayhew, Jr. for felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury, and the magistrate found probable cause and issued a warrant for arrest.
On February 23, 2025, Mayhew was located in Guilford County, arrested, and transported to the Guilford County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant. The magistrate issued no bond, and a court date was set for March 30, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
