On February 18, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for an unconscious individual behind the wheel of a car in the 6300 block of Jordan Rd. Upon arrival, deputies located the individual in the middle of the roadway with the vehicle still in drive and observed an illegal substance on the center console. He was identified as Hunter Dylan Whitcher and detained upon removal from the vehicle. Following a medical evaluation with on-scene EMS, Whitcher was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of heroin. He was given a $5,000 secured bond, and a first appearance was set for February 18, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
