On February 3, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Oakland Ave., Asheboro, regarding a fight involving multiple people. Upon arrival, several individuals directed deputies to a nearby residence in which people had fled. Deputies located the subjects involved. Jason Erin Brower exited his residence holding an unknown object. He did not comply with commands to show his hands and became aggressive; however, the deputies ultimately managed to restrain him with handcuffs.
Brower was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony assault with physical injury to a law enforcement officer and misdemeanor resisting a public officer. He was issued a $100,000 secured bond, and a first appearance was set for February 3, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
