On December 13, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle theft from Rambling Rd., Randleman. The Asheboro Police Department responded with Deputies to Meadowbrook Rd. where the vehicle had been located.
Upon arrival, Daniel Carzarin-Santos and Carmen Casarin Pacheco were located with the vehicle on the property. The VIN confirmed the vehicle belonged to the victim. They were arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center.
While on scene, a second vehicle was located that was not reported stolen. During the investigation it was determined that this vehicle had just been purchased by the victim but had not yet been registered. Based on this statement, along with confirmation from the previously registered owner that the vehicle had been sold to the victim, a second count of felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle was sought against Cazarin-Santos and Pacheco.
The magistrate found probable cause for both charges. Each received a $30,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for December 15th in Randolph County District Court.
