In July 2025, members of the Invictus Task Force initiated an investigation related to a Cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. During the course of the investigation, Ballard Thomas Anderson Jr. was identified as a suspect.
On December 3, 2025, the Invictus Task Force with the assistance of Guildford County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant and as a result Ballard Thomas Anderson Jr. was taken into custody on three (3) counts of failing to register online identifiers. Anderson was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate issued no bond and set a first appearance in Randolph County District Court for December 5, 2025. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Invictus Task Force representatives.
