On November 15, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the area of Grantville Lane and Buffalo Ford Rd., Asheboro. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine was located in possession of the passenger, identified as Crystal Marie Staples. She was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine. She was issued a $1,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for November 17, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
