On September 15, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on I -73/74 northbound. During a subsequent search, an illegal substance and paraphernalia were located. Garret Chad Griffin was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond. A first appearance was set for September 16, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
