On September 3, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Jordan Rd., Ramseur. The driver was identified as Dakota Owen Redding, who alerted law enforcement to having a gun in his passenger seat. During the stop, it was determined that Redding had an active domestic violence protection order against him that included a prohibition on the possession of firearms. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony domestic violence pdrotective order violation. He was issued no bond. A first appearance was set for September 5, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
