On August 11, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a report in reference to trespassing. The complainant reported hiring Christopher Lee Roberts to do some construction and small projects on a property. While checking on that property in the days prior to this report, Roberts was found staying in the home and was requested to leave. Upon returning on the 11th to check the property, Roberts was found to still be in the property and Haley Marie Cooper was with him.
Deputies responded, and upon arrival, Roberts fled the scene. Cooper was placed under arrest, and they then attempted to locate Roberts. During the investigation, they observed that a window had been pried open for entry.
Cooper was then transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where she was charged by magistrate order for felony breaking and entering. She was issued a $1,000 secured bond, and a first appearance was set for August 12, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
The magistrate also issued a warrant for Roberts for felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor injury to real property.
On August 14, 2025, Roberts was located in Davidson County, arrested, and transported to the Davidson County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant and issued a $5,000 secured bond. A first appearance was scheduled for August 25, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
